On eBay they have a star grading which can be applied at the feedback stage. Example: you've seen an auction item that clearly shows postage costs, you're happy to bid for item & you win it. Once received from seller you can give feedback & give a glowing feedback saying you're happy throughout. However, you can give individual star rating for item description, despatch time, communication & postage costs... this only being viewable by eBay themselves (not buyer). Would you give a low rating on postage even though you saw costs on auction, happy to pay those costs & eventually bought item? Does anyone realise consequences/meaning of this star rating? Just curious if anyone had any comebacks as result of this star rating alone..... absolutely nothing do with the feedback comments.

It is very unfair system they run now having had full experience of it. NOX I'm glad someone else can see my side having experienced something similar. I still feel grossly hard done by, not being able to defend myself, bring any cases forward and certainly don't see what I've done that is so wrong firstly for any ban to be put in force but secondly a lifetime one! all on the say of 4 customers that decided they wasn't happy with postage costs after originally accepting them, without firstly taking the matter up with me on one to one basis. No warnings or comprise from eBay, their decision is final. Doubt I'll be opening new account with them, be watching my step all the time. I'll await boot sale sell my wares there.
eBay isn't your only option. Have a look at eBid

Thanks hc. I'll take a look.
Ebid isn't great but it's certianly better than nothing. The next best thing to ebay is Gumtree, Preloved and Vivastreet but it does depend what you are selling.
