Does anyone know anything about a ceremony of the Lilies and the Rose - said to commemorate the murder of a monarch - and if so, what institutions do the Lilies and the Rose represent?

I think this is to do with Henry V1 who was murdered in the Tower of London in the oratory.. Every year on the anniversary of his death white lillies for Eton College and white roses for Kings College Cambridge are placed in the oratory which is in the Wakefield Tower. I think Henry founded these two Colleges.

Thanks Shaneystar....with your info I tracked it down...it's the Provosts of Eton and Kings Colleges who lay lilies and roses on the altar which now stands where Henry died.
