thank you for your views regarding the acceptance of

altered entries. I find the best way is to use the copy facility and make a mess of the copy before sending it off! but I still have to make alterations occasionally.

You wouldn't be human if you didn't have to make alterations condriac, as I mentioned in earlier correspondence I think most editors are fair the way they deal with entries, you can only send it in and hope for the best! Good puzzlin!

This may sound obvious but the simplest rule is: don't write anything in unless you're 100% certain! I am amazed at the number of people who end up with wrong letters because other answers are wrong. With cryptic clues, if you can't explain every word in the clue, then your answer constitutes a guess: don't write it in!

There is a pen available called Eraser.max by Papermate which is ink but has an eraser at the end. Although ink it does rub out! Around �2.00.
