Keyboard Problems

Does anyone have answer to my problem
I have just purchased a new pc with windows 8
The problem is that when i use the keyboard and try to put use my email address when i try use the sign @ it comes out as "
How can i change the keyboard to work as it should

You have the keyboard set up as normal for the USA. Go here, (ignore the first few idiotic answers and see a step by step for UK keyboard...

From the Charms bar, choose settings/control panel
Choose Language
You need to match the installed Keyboard to the physical keyboard. If the " symbol is above the 2, you need to select a UK keyboard layout. If the @ symbol is above the 2, slect a US layout.

if you hit "caps lock" "SHIFT" and "ctrl" all at the same time it alters your keyboard settings. just hold all three again and its fixed. (also if other symbols are still wrong try repeating till its back to normal. the quotation marks also switch up.
