to all the English doctors? I had an appointment today at the surgery and I could hardly understand what the doctor was saying to me. Could have been telling me I only had one week to live for all I know. Fortunately, my visit was for nothing too serious.

If you can't understand your doctor you should always insist that a nurse or other staff member join the room and translate. You should not feel embarrassed about it.
