New York Restaurant
Happy New Year
Could anyone recommend a nice, romantic, non-touristy, restaurant in NYC suitable for a post-proposing meal? cost not so much an issue as good food, service and romantic ambiance.

Had Xmas dinner there years ago. Can't tell you anything about current food or service (and I have no doubt there will be tourists there) but it was a nice place. If you're still planning the proposal itself, they've just reopened the roof garden at the top of the Centre, said to have great views, so that might be a good place to go down on one knee.
Jimmer, I can recommend the website www.opentable.com as a means of getting that all important table reservation in advance, whist still being in the UK.
If money is no object:
Alain Ducasse at the Essex house (very formal).
The Gramercy Tavern (my pick, high praise).
Nobu (Very good star spotting astronomically high prices).
One by land two if by sea. (Great American dining),
Daniel (Very Intimate/romantic French).
Let us know how it goes, and good luck!
