Hi Guys,

This might sound really petty (it even sounds petty to me!)

I was in a relationship with a guy for about 3 months early last year. All was well until he decided to call it off, saying he was too busy with work for a relationship (he's really ambitious). I was quite shocked as he'd shown no signs of wanting out AT ALL. I understood though and we remained friends and kept in touch regularly until August, after which I didn't hear from him. I sent him a couple of texts in October just asking how he was, but got no reply, so I left it at that.

In the afternoon this new years day I got a happy new year text from an unknown number. I asked who it was and he replied saying he had a new number and hoped I was ok. I then asked him how he was and still haven't had a response!

So I'm wondering, whats going on? I got it in my mind that he didn't want to hear from me anymore, but then he gives me his new number. Why give me the number if he's just going to ignore me?

Told you it was silly, its just bugging me...

Any thoughts would be appreciated,

It sounds like the NY greeting was a 'round robin' sent to everyone on his old phone list - and you were included, although it would appear from the lack of follow-up that this was accidental!

It was bad mannered of him to be so cavalier with you - it sounds like you are better off without him.

Well my ex does the same thing, he texts and then when i reply he ignores me. I personally think its an ego thing for him, he wants to know u'll answer after all these months. next time he texts just ignore him however hard that is!!

yes men definitely smell - and thats putting it politely.... some of em should've been drowned at birth!!! lol

Yep, sounds like a generic text that he sent you. I agree that if he didn't want you to know who it was then why reply but he did.

Best solution is to delete the number from your phone and let it be.

Find a nice guy who will reply to your texts~!!

Yep definatly a bloke thing its justdoing it to put you in the posisition your in now. he knows your still there sort of thing a bit like him saying jump and you saying how high blokes need that as an ego thing just think when he texts you and you send one back hes looking at the phone laughing at you, delete his number and forget about him see how he likes that

I've had the same thing done to me as a guy, it was almost like she'd been abducted by aliens in the night and replaced with a clone that didn't like me by the morning....sorry but 3 months is a very short time for someone to make a decision to give up....you're better off rid....
