Possible Insect Bite

not sure but think i have been bitten again by some damn insect,
sitting minding my own business watching tv last evening. itch, scratch and a large welt has come up. What creepy crawlies live on the sofa, as that is where i was sitting. No animals in the house, so not cat, dog fleas?
And what to put on it, as it's large lump, the last time this happened it lasted for several weeks.

chrisgel - my son was bitten by a pregnant spider once. He was lifting up a garden lounger and it was underneath the arm and bit his hand!

definitely not shingles nor insect bite, but
herpes, fer heavens sake..

Ahhhh, so what have they given you?

course of tablets, it's going by the way, but no idea what caused it, doctor says they can lay dormant for years, really? i am pretty upset by the way, it doesn't seem pleasant at all. This was the second time in a matter of months and in the same place, fluffing hell. I would have thought it would affect the ladies bits, trying to be delicate here, not one's rear end.

Ohhh, I thought that stress could cause it to flare up.
