What Do You Do When You're Feeling Stressed??

Feeling so stressed tonight, I feel so on edge and shaky. What do you do to switch off when you feel like this?

Thanks for suggestions. Well I ended up watching that programme on BBC2 about those children having neuro surgery. Normally, I can't watch things like that when I'm stressed but it was so interesting and made me feel lucky. I thought the surgeon seemed like such a great guy.

I've had a galaxy ripple, sent a few texts to family, drank plenty of tea, told my husband how I felt, kissed and cuddled the dog and now I feel ok, thank goodness.

It's not often I feel the way I did, think everything had just got on top of me.

Whilst you are experiencing this dizziness, keep out of the bath and have a stand up strip wash at the bathroom sink, far safer.
desky...have you ever had your ears checked? you may have any number of conditions that can cause intermittent spells of dizziness.
Stress can also play a part....I hate suggesting this-but can you take a break from Mr Desk?It sounds as if he makes your situation worse,and is unsympathetic.

Boxtops' answer is the relaxation technique I have taught for over 30 years.

Also counting the breath in (say 4 second count) and out (say 6 second) and making the exhalation longer than the inhalation. This has a relaxing effect - honest! Google 'alternate nostril breath'. My students use it before the dentists/ BP check!
Sleep or read. I have to put a bit of distance between myself and the stress so I can then look at it objectively.
I'm afraid that Desktops posts make me feel stressed.........
I go for a run. I don't drink coffee as that can set me off.
I feel sad that desktop has drawn such a short straw in life, and wont get help...
MissCommando - a session at the gym helps, and some easy watching tv, Simpsons, Friends, Father Ted.
You could also try Rescue remedy.
