Malwarebytes Free Version???

I have been using this for years on my old PC's and am trying to install the free version on my new laptop.All I can get is a new version that has a trial,but I have no activation code so it won't let me even start the trial version,let alone the free one.
I saw a previous answer that said just let the trial version run out,but how can I let it run out when I cannot even get it to start?
Probably something stupid I am doing but please help it is driving me nuts!!

The install offers the option as Trial or Free, apparently!

As Pinky indicates, the installation process includes an option to trial the PRO version. Make sure that you remove the tick!

Your answers gave me the courage to try again,and lo and behold I have it scanning now!
You would not believe the stupid thing that was driving me potty.I was only looking at the bottom buttons and forgot to look(or just did not see) the scan button that had been there since the first time I downloaded.
I think I need a rest!
