I like the woman third from the left in the Korean troops picture. She looks like she's really enjoying life in North Korea doesn't she?

Another way to look at that picture is that it's a revolution waiting to happen. They don't just look miserable, they look angry.

Take a bit of time to search out some photos of the senior officers in the DPRK army. They are all very well fed.
The conscripts live on miserable rations and have to forage what they can in a country where the official daily ration is 1000 calories.
Until you've walked in someone's shoes....
