Those of you with partners or husbands/wives, do you do everything together or do you each have your own interests which sometimes keeps you apart? My wife and I do everything together and we never get tired or bored of each other whatever we are doing, maybe we are lucky, I don't know. Yet there are other couples who find it is healthy to have partly separate lives. What do others think?

Like ratter15 said, we generally share each others interests. ratter15 wanted to start flying model planes a while back and asked me to have a go too. So I did. Mind you, he is far better at it than me, but we still enjoy it together. I make dog collars and ratter15 wants to join me in this and make leather collars and belts etc., once we have moved. We tend to take an interest in whatever the OH wants to try and if we like it, we do it together. If not, as long as it doesn't take time away from being together, we each do different things. I don't join in when he does his metal work, as it just isn't something I could manage. Soon we want to join a medieval society. Many Irish Wolfhound owners around the world are member of these and take their hounds to medieval festivals etc. Looks like great fun! My ratter15 works 6 days a week, so the time we appreciate the time we have together and try to make the most of it. As we are both very relaxed people and accept and respect each other as individuals, we very rarely argue. Mind you, we do not have the same opinions on everything, but we do respect each others opinions. Lovely to hear that others have this kind of relationship too!
Separate lives in separate houses, that's us, and we're both happy with that. After 2 marriages & 4 kids between us & the 2nd husband, I now enjoy my own space and time to do my own thing.
I see my Captain weekends (most, not all), high days & holidays & thats fine. We may live together one day, maybe when we're 60 odd, but I think I have the best of both worlds. We're all different, what suits some doesn't suit others. But to live with him now 24 hrs a day every day would send me bonkers. ;-)

I don't live in husbands pocket and he doesn't live in mine .
He doesn't share my interests and I have no interest whatsoever in bloody football :)
I pursue the interests I like and he doesn't mind .I don't mind him watching football either .Quite frankly I would go mad having someone breathing down my neck 24/7 ..It's a bit like wearing matching jumpers :)
Even though we are now forced together on a daily basis as we're retired we give one another our own space to do our own things .
What a lovely tribute to your missus, Ron. Dunno if you do cyber hugs, but you're getting one anyway. (((HUG))).

Work commitments aside, OH and I are pretty much together all the time, and we like it that way. Have the same interests and hobbies - the only time we differ is over our viewing preferences - he loves the History Channel and hates the soaps - for me it's vice-versa.
Me and my fella have been together just over four years and been living together 3yrs. We met through work so for a while we worked and lived together which worked fine. He now has another job so we don't see each other as much which is fine too. We have very different interests he likes football and extreme sports and I love horses. We are happy to go off and do our own thing but do make sure we have the odd weekend together and always go on holiday abroad together. We are very opposite in many ways but it seems to work. Its true what they say about oppostites attract.
We have two lounges, both with a tv,HD+ box etc.
As we have different viewing priorities...,we use one room each...in fact we never sit to watch anything together,I do ask him to come and watch something of interest but he always has something he`d prefer.I like educational programmes along with soaps, and dramas,my favourite being Silent Witness and Waking the Dead, the later has finished, making no more...which is sad...such a good series
The only thing we do together is go on hols, although we do have separate ones as well.
We have been wed 44 years and people change...I suppose if that was the younger generation of today ....it would mean ..divorce!!!.
We have four children and three grandchildren who are the glue which holds us together.
