Last Friday on the front page of the telegraph there was an article suggesting this particular anti-inflammatory should be banned because of its effect that it might cause heart problems heart attacks and strokes Ive been taking 50mg three times a day for many years, has any one got an opinion regarding this drug Ive spoken to a pharmacist who didn't see there was a problem and I'm hoping to speak to my GP, apart from my joints I'm very healthy with a blood pressure that is constantly around 130/70 I'm 70 years old

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.For me...if I had no past history of high BP, diabetes or heart problems and I was 70 years of age, with no family history of heart attacks or strokes................I would continue taking Diclodenac.
If I had any of the above , I would change to Ibuprofen.
If Ibuprofen wasn't as effective as diclodenac in relieving my pain, then I would return to diclodenac and take my chances.
