"The court was told that Dappy had previous convictions for assault and possessing a bladed weapon.
In November 2005, he was sentenced to a community order for possessing a bladed weapon in a public place.
In September 2007, he was given 40 hours of community service for battery when he pushed a taxi driver following an argument in Camden, north London.
In December 2008, he was given a four-week prison sentence suspended for 12 months and ordered to pay compensation for two battery offences which related to him spitting at two women."

"Disrespect" the judge should have shown him what disrespecting the law was really about, by handing out the maximum sentence of 3 years
/// Judge Stewart said: "The report I have on you suggests you do not present overtly criminal attitudes and this offence has been a wake-up call for you." ///
"Does not present overtly criminal attitudes" ??? Is this judge for real, did he not look at this guy's past record?

/the very act of trying to get two teenage girls into his car/
what do you mean by 'trying to get ... into his car'
Before you make the asinine and disingenuous suggestion that i should use a dictionary can i point out that this is a case in point of your dishonesty in a number of your posts
All that we get from the link is that the accused invited the two girls and became angry when they refused - a fight ensued, with some other men, not with the girls
I would suggest that your use of the phrase /trying to get two teenage girls into his car/
suggests physical coercion associated usually with child abduction
/is not cause to call the police?/
Of which, in reality, there is no mention
Either you knew that but misrepresented it deliberately
or you imagined it as more than it actually was for reasons best left unfathomed
I honestly don't know which of those is the most disturbing explanation

"Toe rags" as you so eloquently describe them are getting 'a slap on the wrist' almost every day, baz, if the circumstances of the crime are like this, their involvement is as limited as this man's was, and he admits the offence. His co-defendants do not appear to have got the same result, do they?
aog, it's a little difficult to impose the maximum if the defendant admits the offence. Or do you think no credit should be given for that? If so, why?

There was no evidence that Gerrard assaulted anybody; the CCTV didn't show that. The case had to proceed on the basis that his presence was somehow encouraging or contributing to illegal violence. Since mere presence is never enough to make a person guilty and there was no further evidence to show an active encouragement in crime he was acquitted. It's tempting to think that he was prosecuted because he was Steve Gerrard; that otherwise the press and others would ask why he wasn't charged and say he had special treatment, and so, to avoid that, he was prosecuted on what was really a non-starter.
