The rubber seal (I'm not sure I'm spelling that right) has broken so when I open the oven there's a long bit of rubber hanging down from one corner?

I have a few questions....

Is there seal there to stop gas/heat leaking out?
Is it dangerous if the seal isn't in tact/partly missing?
Can I just cut it off?
Do I need to replace it?
Can I stick it back on with something?

It will not be dangerous if part of the seal is missing. However the efficiency of the oven will be impaired because heat will be leaking out.

Depending on the make of your oven, spare seals can be purchased.
