I Wonder Why This Number Is Rising So...

Hi There
I went to the doctors with a vaginal infection, he did an examination and a swab (results wont be in until Frid). and said it was def not thrush. But prescribed me antibiotics.
On the leaflet of those antibiotics, it says that they treat vaginal infections including trichomonas. i didn't know what this was, so I looked it up on the internet.
It lists all my symptoms, (itchey, swollen, sore, greeny guey discharge, and soreness bleeding a little). But what really frightened me, was it said it was an STI.
I'm married 10 years and neither my hubby or I had slept with another person. We have a 2 year old boy. I would be devastated if my hubby has cheated on me, and I know it sounds strange, but he has NEVER gave me any reason to suspect. We don't go out seperately much and he is always around the house with me.
But it is true, the infection came the day after we last made love (3 weeks ago, but we use condoms for birthcontrol purposes, although there always is close contact, if you know what I mean?).
Im really upset. But do you think I've jumped the gun? Do other common non STI vaginal infections, have these symptoms? Or have you heard of a case were trichomonas wasn't transmitted because of STI?
I can't bare to believe that my hubby has been unfaithful, and I can't ask him, as if it turns out that it is simply another infection, it would ruin our marriage.
Please can you help me put it into perspective.

Your infection may started from something minor, which left untreated has evolved into something more seriuos which you saw the doctor about. As you said, the results won't be in until Friday so wait for these and then decide your course of action.
You also said that you use condoms, have you changed brand? I had an awful experience once when a boyfriend bought another brand and I reacted to it - turns out I am allergic to certain ones but never knew!
Your symptoms could be a number of non sti problems so don't read too much into the medication.
Good luck andPlease let us know how it turns out

It states it treats other infections including Trichomonus.I think personally your Dr would have told you to refrain from sexual activities if he suspected that.If he did, that would also perhaps be in your own interests because it is bound to sore and just sometimes believe it or not the infection can be transferred to your bowel -strange but true.It happened to me when a bad case of thrush got a real hold and the infection landed up there - felt like sitting in a cold bath for a week!!Antibiotics cleared it up no bother.
You will be fine and stop worrying about your husband - sounds like you have an ace relationship.
