Have They A Point?
19 Answers
After what happened on the pasty tax issue, do these doctors think they will stand a chance on taxing soft drinks?
And surely it will be the normal majority that end up paying for the tubby few, (Fatties no doubt buy in bulk and get a discount anyway) so how is that fair?
Some of the other points seem good me though such as fast food outlets near schools and I would certainly expect hospitals to dish up healthy grub.

And it is said that those who drink lo cal end up taking in more calories ever the day anyway, so the goal is a dodgy one.
It's one of those 'made in good faith but doesn't stand up to scrutiny' things. But if the governement smells an income, who knows ?

Ironically, fat people tend to drink diet drinks anyway!
It's political suicide, no government would do it. Doctors can say these things because they don't have to get re elected.
Fat people know why they are fat, it's not an easy fix, I know, but the whole of society should not be punished for those who cannot manage their weight, for what it's worth I count myself as somewhat non slim in all this.

Anecdotal, rather than scientific, but all my fat friends take diet, low calorie, versions of soft drinks. They appear not to see that this is no more than a token gesture, but doing such things as eating a pasty on their way to having lunch (which I witnessed one do) is very much of the opposite nature.
artificial sugars then, plus all the additives going.

Anyone caught out by that? This is all the coke/pepsi/whatever you need for 10% of a daily calorific allowance for the average lady: http:// i.imgur .com/y2 aaTgq.j pg

It's not, if true. However you'd probably just not have the fizzy nonsense if it was too expensive as many likeminded people would - the general sales may go down and you might find yourself happy that "fatties" are paying their way.

How is that ? From studies made. For whatever reason the craving for something else must increase when the mind has been fooled by thinking it is getting something sweet and high energy, and then not receiving the expected hit. It's all more complicated than those who dismiss it as just exercising more and eating less realise. The subconscious forces some to deal with things that others never experience.
