Can't get 20(d).

A bit of ear trouble has arisen in bed (7). I have L?B?L?A. It looks like Lobelia, but why?

Incidentally, several queries have come about 22(d) but no one appears to have come up with what appears to be the correct answer - MENHIR. What the connection is with reptile I can't work out!

a bit of ear = LOBE, trouble has arisen = ail reversed = LIA
... and a LOBELIA would be found in a flower bed
Lobelia ( lobe +ail reversed)
22d seems to have been answered as nether (hidden word) = under
