What brouser are you using, cos with IE, there's a pop-up blocker in tools >>> pop-up blocker.
You can manage the settings as well - you shouldn't need an additional programme to do it.

Firefox too has its own popup blocker.
Go to Tools/Options/content and activate it there.

You can bloc pop in browser itself..All you need to do is to go to tool and in options you fill find an option to block pop up, you have to activate it only.
