Protein sources for vegetarian working out?
Hi,
I was wondering what anyone could suggest as good sources of protein for a vegetarian that is working out and looking to increase muscle mass. The obvious quorn etc comes to mind - but I am often on the road and cannot seem to purchase any 'fast food' for vegetarians!

Tescos do a good 'all day' veggie breakfast (low fat veggie sausages) in their cafeteria. When cooking at home use Realeat Veggie Mince as a Beef mince replacement. High in protein, low in fat, cheap and easy to use especially in Bolgnaise, Chilli and Shepherds Pie. Buy it frozen from most supermarkets. Millet is a good source of protein (has all the required amino acids - the only cereal/grain that has. Buy it in a bag from a health store, cooking instructions should be on the bag (Holland and Barrett is best). I have an easy tasty recipe for Millet and Mushroom Bake. I can post it on line if required. Always keep a bag of sunflower seeds in the car to snack on, a good source of protein.

Tofu and other soy products are the best source of protein that is non animal in origin. Many recipes are easy and very tasty as well as being nutritious. check these sites for ideas:
