But George W was just a but dim.

Sarah P is positively dangerous.
"He who warned, uh, the British that they weren't gonna be taking away our arms, uh, by ringing those bells, and um, making sure as he's riding his horse through town to send those warning shots and bells that we were going to be sure and we were going to be free, and we were going to be armed."

Patriot Sarah Palin is all over American folk hero Paul Revere
You forget one master of the art, Mr Dan Quayle. He started them....

"If your parents never had children, chances are you won't either."

"A low voter turnout is an indication of fewer people going to the polls."

"I have made good judgments in the past. I have made good judgments in the future."

"I want to learn Latin to be able to speak to the locals (of Central America)."

"This election is about who's going to be the next President of the United States!"

good one, bet there are plenty from other politicos around the world, the Americans come in for a pasting because they often seem the most vocal, however some should most definitely take their feet out of their mouths.

honeydip, confess don't know what a chav is, apart from your or someone's offering it means a child?
Where I grew up it was a shell suit wearing dim wit. Plenty of them still around. Last time I was in the uk and there is now a tendency for males to walk around with their hand down their pants clutching there genitals. Makes the people in the video look not half bad really
if had read the thread from the start reference had already been made to gaffes or inaccuracies made by some of our politicians. As to chav no one seems to know the true origin, child, boy in Romany, or just some lazy person's idea of what some of our people are, not nice all the same.
That's so funny, It should be posted on the jokes page.
I always assumed chav was an acronym for council house and violent?
there are various versions, but one contender is definitely from the Romany.
Some funny ones from a certain Royal:

To multi-ethnic Britain’s Got Talent 2009 winners Diversity: “Are you all one family?”

To black politician Lord Taylor of Warwick, 1999: “And what exotic part of the world do you come from?”

And less funny ones

On smoke alarms to a woman who lost two sons in a fire, 1998: “They’re a damn nuisance - I’ve got one in my bathroom and every time I run my bath the steam sets it off.”

To Lockerbie residents after plane bombing, 1993: “People say after a fire it’s water damage that’s the worst. We’re still drying out Windsor Castle.”

Ahhh, perhaps I should be on that news reel then?
Huw Edward response is unexpected, but funny, as to Blair and the football, never should have happened.
