Just getting rid of my sons 2000, 2400cc Cougar tomorrow, "Scrap) the cars is a minta, one prob ABS Light always on, turns out to be the Module, I have accommodate the sale for the repair, £400, not one offer, has anyone ever tried selling one of these Fords? " This is not an Ad, Ed" just interested if anyone else has had trouble selling one of these Ford Cougars.
Fixed Or Repaired Daily. Seriously, is the ABS light all that's mechanically wrong with it? I get a car regularly through an MOT with that unsolvable problem (I had someone fiddle with the wiring).
Apart from what I have stated Prudie, there are no Problems whatsoever, these cars are not the best of sellers, Re/ what you have said, I would never sell a car that had problems, ( I'm not a dealer) the ABS+ light is an MOT Requirement.
I was told if your MOT tester is on the ball just removing the bulb would be a fail - the light is expected to come on for a few seconds, as with all the other warning lights, when the ignition is first on and then go out.
Cougar was never a great seller when they were new...never quite took off and to be honest you dont see that many on the road.
Also some of the body panels/bumpers are quite expensive(if they are still available) and there are not any non-gen alternatives...which really says it all.
