I need to know if my citroen c1 is positive or negative earth, I have just bought a car vac that does not work, Please help before I send it back !

To the best of my knowledge, every mass-market car built for the past half century (and more!) has been 'negative earth'!

Just look under the bonnet at your battery leads. If negative earth the lead will be attached to the chassis.
