Why send them out mid February when they're not due till April, any way we don't have a meter just an annual bill. This year £426.57p. It seems a lot to me. This is Yorkshire water. When I queried it I was told it is based on the rateable value of your home. When I said rates were abolished years ago she hung up on me. So is it now based on your council tax band? What do others pay?
Hello Jeza, hope things are taking a turn for the better for you and Mic. How is Mic doing these days? Give him my regards. God bless and keep you both. xx
jeza, with only the 2 of you, a water meter would surely be beneficial. I pay £22 a month combined for incoming and foul water - we saved a fortune when we swapped over to metered water. We dont use the washing machine or the hose any less than we used to.
We don't have a meter andsit quietly hoping not to be forced into it for fear of not being able to wash the car or water the garden when the water butts are empty.
(Wash the car? I hear Mr Maydup ask; since when did you wash the car?)
Well I'd like to be able to wash the car if I feel like it. We pay about £200 pa.
Yes that's metered Jeza, and I have garden sprinklers, car to wash etc. having said that I don't think the sprinklers were needed last year.
The sister and her husband switched to a meter 2 years after me, and she reckons they're quids in as opposed to the rateable value amount they were paying (they do live in a big house though)
