If your anti-virus program runs in safe mode then it might remove it. You may also have to disable System Restore as the virus might be contained in the Restore area.
Perhaps fo3nix or Buenchico will give you more detail? (Or alunrw?)
or do ctrl+alt+del, go to task manager and if you can spot the virus in the task list then highlight, click end process and then you should be able to delete it.
alternatively search the web for info on the virus and any decent anti virus site (symantec, mcafee etc) should give full details on removing it.
As mentioned by Wideboy, once youve located it, you should turn off the system restore and whilst this is off so a full Anti virus scan again and also worth doing a full spyware/adware scan before turning restore back on.
