Lorries Carrying Flammable Liquid

Does anyone know the law regarding a lorry carrying flammable liquid parked in a residential car park surrounded by houses and flats and about 200 yards from someones home.

I think you mean that the authorities (in the form of the Traffic Commissioner) do absolutely nothing about it, unless a greater god like an MP gets on their back.

I'd suggest that the salient fact here is "when not in use". It could be argued that, even if the driver were spending the night in his own house, the vehicle could be said to be "in use".

That said, if giveup caould post a link to his pictures, we'd all be able to give a more accurate answer.

Seajay, when a HGV sets off on a Monday to his / her destination, he / she could then Tramp all week & carry any Flamable goods, in theory it works, In reality it does not, & also do not forget, the Driver is in his / her bunk whilst that cargo is on the, Flat / Trailor.

Sorry, TWR, don't understand what you mean. I spent 20 years tramping with tankers full of potable spirit, then a further 20 managing a fleet of nigh on 2000 heavy vehicles. I do have some idea of the laws relating to this.

That the HGV be at their depot Seajay at night after a day delivery's, I used to carry ICI Products, " Very Flammable" we used to park anywhere that log book allowed.

I remember an incident on Toddington Services about 25 years ago when the police and fire brigade came round waking us all up and telling us to get off site as soon as possible because something nasty was leaking out of someone's trailer. They all had breathing apparatus on. You didn't see me for dust! Didn't even get dressed.
