Oh, deary me, aren't they getting very boring?

Same old thing year after year, and then the following day, nothing but who said what, who wore what etc., on the news ... yawn, yawn

OK, it's probably my age!

Just what I was thinking.

All those luvvies.

I thought I was alone.
you're right, they are very boring and just an excuse for fake smiles and back-stabbing... i mean back-slapping
Yes your right Blue Toffee it's the same old same old year in year out.
Agreed.
I like seeing the underdog win, hate that even before th envelope is opened we kind of know who has won as they have been "tipped" for weeks.

Care not a jot about the fashion aspect.
Wouldn't it be nice if our news channels were tailored to things we want to hear, mine would probably be quiet most of the day.
I'm glad Daniel Day Lewis won, though. I can't wait to see Lincoln or whatever the film is called.
Sorry, but I don't want to see Lincoln either.
Do you really expect it to be any different though?
Don't think I do either Hopkirk, some of the reviews I have seen say it is overlong.
I don't fancy any of the films mentioned in the Oscars, OH would probably want to see Django Unchained.

Actually, I'll probably watch Skyfall when it comes onto Sky for free.
No I don't pasta.
i am glad for Daniel Day Lewis, he is a wonderful actor.
id never heard of argo

czj - looks old!
Argo is based on a true story, and if you read up about it, it barely seems possible that the agents pulled off this brazen coup.
i looked it up this morning, i'll watch it when it hits sky movies, im not going to go to see it

Thought I would get slated for not being impressed with the Oscars, glad I'm not the only one!
Question Author
ps ... Daughter took me to see Argo, thoroughly enjoyed it, and was sitting on the edge of my seat throughout.
