I'm thinking of getting a new wireless printer (probably one of those 3-in-1 thingymajigs) and was wondering which brand is best for long lasting inks or cheapest to buy refill inks?? Anyone any advice?

We have a Kodak which I would not recommend.
Work Colleague went I a repair shop and they also did not recommend Kodak. Try Epsom or cannon.
Epsom. Buy compatible ink from the internet. Ebay is a good place to start for the ink, and most are post free.
They're certainly worth their salt(s).
Just bought a Canon Pixma MG5320 (here in the U.S.). Cost to buy was $82 (US) and am really please at how long the ink cartridges last. I buy my ink at a refill store... about half the price from the seller of the printer.

Word of caution, most new printers are wireless connection from your computer. I have an older computer that did not have wireless capability, although our service provider had installed a wireless router (for Mrs. C's Kindle) without wireless capability in the computer I still had to connect the printer to the computer via cable... works good though...
printers are the new toasters
I have a HP photosmart 3 in 1 thingymajig and hardly ever use it. The price of ink is extrotionate, the wifi connection unreliable so I have to get the cable out and the online web printing function quite unecessary.

What do you need to print dave and how often?
I bought a wireless 3-in-1 Epsom XP-202 from Tesco a month ago for around £40 and am very pleased with it. Ink cartridges can be bought for around £2.50 and the colours come in separate cartridges unlike a lot of others. This comes in handy if you are printing material which preferentially uses one particular colour (maps). Two friends of mine are very happy with their Canon printers. Avoid Lexmark and HP printers.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I'd be mostly using the printer for black ink items like letters and stuff like that and photocopying a few things. Possibly a few photos now and again. Not looking for anything too over the top so around the £50 mark. I've seen a few of the Epsom small in one printers on amazon for about £40 so will maybe get one of those come payday.
That may explain the crumby spelling of Epson, Dotty. :P

It would appear most of us don't know our Epsons from our Epsoms!!

DJHawkes ... i have an epson but i can't find a slot for the bread
Perhaps we all need a 'toast printer' at the breakfast table.

I wouldn't recommend Kodak either - We have just replaced a Kodak after only 9 months of use with a Canon MG3150 and it is much better. We had Canon before but allowed ourselves to be persuaded to the Kodak - big mistake.
