all places like pirate bay are bit-torrents, this means you are not downloading anything from pirate bay, you are downloading from the other users of pirate bay.

So you may be downloading from a middle aged banker in kent that is sharing (illegally) some programs with no malicious intent, or you might be downloading from a scammer in eastern Europe that only has one intention, to infect your computer and rip you off for as much as they can.

You download illegally, you take the risk!

I've never questioned the Spanish precedent about downloading for personal use with no financial gain (I don't think it's right, but that's another matter)

But middkazsam is probably not in Spain, so for him to download from you would still be illegal (well assuming it is copyright stuff they are downloading)

Well yes I have used pirate bay before but now it has been blocked from our ISP (I'm from UK) so I end up using proxy sites so that I can access pirate bay again. Here's the pirate bay proxy site that I have used: http://howtoaccesspiratebay.in/
