The very thought of a large flame and gas combination makes me wonder who ever thought of this as a fun activity in the first place.

I've done it in Spain. It's brilliant.

Since the balloon moves with the wind, there's no feeling of wind, or cold, or noise. It's eerie, and wonderful.
Kenya for me (and the UK), the balloon crossing the Serengeti as the sun came up, animals on the move beneath you. It was a brilliant experience and one I would say yes to if there was another opportunity.....
