7 Answers
I have now had enough of Mountain Lion on my iMac, used to have Snow Leopard, I find mountain lion all over the place and now of course I seem to have every picture on my iMac appearing in iphoto, this includes pictures of weather channel, google, all the maps of the world, the queen, copies of all my screens, etc, etc, all 1300 them.
Off to look at a windows laptop tomorrow, not sure what windows 8 will be like, but apple goodbye.

I had java 6 with snow leopard and I am not sure if they are still letting you use this version of java. Only answer perhaps is to play on another website which does not use java and reinstall snow leopard with my original discs. How would I do this please.
''apple is not keen on java''
Really? V. surprised to hear that. Have you run Software Update? (off the Apple logo top left of your screen).

The easiest way is to do an erase/clean install. Before you do anything though, back up all your important software, files, photos, music etc. then have a look at this:

A bit overkill though imo if you're not Mac-savvy. I'd try and resolve your current Mountain Lion problems first.
