My computer clock keeps losing time and I have to adjust it several times a day. I have broadband so the computer is usually connected to the internet during the day and it is supposedly synchronised once a week. Does anyone know what I can do about this? I am using Windows XP but have never had this problem before.

I believe there is a small battery inside your PC that is there to keep the clock running when your PC is off. Maybe this needs replacing?
Almost certainly the 'button' type battery on your motherboard. How old is the computer? These batteries last for 3 to 5 years (more if you're lucky)?
...mmm...if that is the case, and it may well be, then it is NOT just as easy as replacing the battery in your TV remote........you might care to look and read the advice at this link..........and then decide if it is a job for you or your favourite local computer engineer...........commoner ;-)

Thanks for the info. The computer is only about six months old and this problem was there from the beginning so I think I will get the engineer back to sort this for me.
