Do we really need any more versions of smart phones?

There was a feature on telly this morning about the next generation, and the "amazing" Apps they will have.

Like ...

You can talk to you phone, and it will select a song on your car stereo.

Seriously? That's progress? Because I have real trouble finding music on my car stereo ... not.

And if your car has an accident, it will summon the emergency services.

So the emergency services will be inundated with calls when people have pranged a bollard?

Will the next generation of smart phones actually have ANY useful new features? (useful as distinct from simply clever!)

How will the phone salesman persuade gullible to people to buy YET ANOTHER generation of telephones?

And actually, I used my compass a few weeks ago. I wanted to see if my toilet was north facing.

Well there ya go JJ!
My grandson Max recently demonstrated how he could, by pirouetting, take a photograph of the surrounding landscape "in 360 degrees and high definition", when I said, "but it's already there in 360 degrees and high definition" he looked at me as if I was beyond all hope.

The 360 photo ...

Clever, but ultimately ... a bit pointless.
I've taken one of them with a static camera, it took 12 shots to go all the way round. Much more interesting....
I take my Galaxy note everywhere I go, I dont use it a great deal but cant be without it. It is my telephone, my camera, my photo album (over 1000 photos) my Sat Nav, my note book, my map, my calender, my diary,my dictionary,my toy when im bored, im looking forward to getting the Galaxy Note 2, its half an inch bigger!! :-))
