Blood sugar test kits

Can you buy blood sugar test kits over the counter from places like Boots? Any idea how much they cost?

yes you can buy them from any chemist, the cheapest are about �8, im a diebetic and supposed to check my blood sugar every day and was told by my doctor to buy my own machine, i think thats wrong, if you need it you should be able to get ut on prescription. they'll do anything to save money.

I agree with cliffsdoll have brought at least four machines since being diabetic, boots sell them Accuchek is a good product but remember you only get the starter kit and will need to get a prescription for the lancets and test strips, and unless your diabetic doubt if you could get them on prescription but you can buy these at chemist, depends if you just want to do the odd test then the starter kit does have a few strips with the glucometer
