I know Stevenage very well ,live just up the road. How are you traveling ? By train ? . The Roebuck is very near the golf centre and has a good reputation . It is a 'traditional ' Hotel not a modern 'look alike' chain.
The Roebuck is not the closest to the station but is convenient to your venue. It has full disabled access and a decent bar and restaurant.

thanks for all the advice I have booked the Novatel ground floor disabled room for 2 nights as they have in included breakfast in the room and we can cancel up to 2pm on the arrival day and wont be charged. We can get a minicab to our destination, also free parking at the hotel.Roebuck did not offer as much.
Been a while since I was there last, but this used to be pretty good.

But I would recommend getting there early for Sunday Lunch - I would recommend as near noon as possible :)
