God save the pope
12 Answers
It has just been announced that the pope has been praying to God (who else would he pray to?) for rain. Now if God can control the weather, and does so , why should he do what the pope wants rather than what He himself wants?? Isn't religious faith a wonderful thing!!!!

Granted he is hopeless with it, but it is his faith in his facade that keeps him from seeing reality (and his place in it). As for the religious leaders well I ask you....Homosexual and Peadophile Bishops, gay vicars, adulterous Fathers what next. Still as long as they can con the world into filling the offertary bowl who cares!
It's not just one religion. If everyone just believed in who they wanted to (or not have the need to believe in any 'god') then fine....just don't try to convert the whole bl**dy world. We all have 'favourite' colours, foods, television programmes or even what shoes we like wearing best. It doesn't mean everyone has to like/eat/watch/wear them too. As long as your faith doesn't involve being nasty/evil/superior etc to anyone else, then.....ah.... Doesn't really work, does it?
Right again Coggles. I was always at a loss to understand what the meek would do with it, when they inherited the earth, and then I realised that if the worlds plebs were meek, and saw this as a way to "salvation", they would be putty in the hands of the "tithe collectors" and would do exactly as their religious leaders (who had a direct line to God) wished. Hence the growth of the power and splendour of religions the world over.
But all this does not answer the question of why God keeps changing his mind as to what He views as sinful. The worlds religious leaders, who all have that direct line, and keep telling us what he views as right or wrong, continually give us evermore lax morality. Why did God not either tell them what he wanted first time round (and stick to it) or make creatures (us) who could only do "his will"!?
