A related question to my other post.

For bread making it sometimes says plain and at other times self raising '.?

What is the point of using yeast instead of self raising flour unless of course
its to impart the yeasty flavour.

Can bi-carb or baking powder be added to making bread?

I've never used SR flour to make bread or baking powder

I have a recipe for an Irish Tea Bread which I uses SR flour, and a mxed seed bread which uses plain flour plus bi-carb so you see my confusion.
Soda bread. Plain flour, baking soda, buttermilk (and I add bran)
Yeasted bread has a different texture from quick bread made with baking powder as well as the taste. Yeast stretches the gluten in the dough because it works more slowly than baking powder.
