Thanks aelmpvw. As i have internet on the tv - i thought i could use them when using internet but to no avail. Instruction booklet very brief

On my Samsung Smart TV if you open the internet browser then select OK when the cursor is in the search box a virtual keyboard appears on the screen. My remote doesn't have letters on so I would have to use the virtual keyboard by using the up, down, left or right keys to select the letters. However, to make it easier I bought a cheapish wireless keyboard & mouse. It works great.
