I was gobsmacked today when a friend told me she irons socks & undies. Why? I do the bare minimum of ironing. What about the rest of you?

Sorry, can you explain "ironing", please?

When my daughter was still at school she complained about her blouse not being properly ironed. I said politely if you not happy with it do your own ironing and she did. She is now married in her own house and still a perfectionist in ironing . Boy am I glad she don't live here. I fold up as much as I can when taking them in and it is then half the battle when I iron them. But I still hate it just iron the necessities.

I use my ironing board as a breakfast bar. The iron is just an ornament.

i never iron undies bedding or nightwear ,oh needs clean uniform every day so iron all that and all other clothes ,a few years ago oh was in navy for 28years i hated ironing all the uniform, the work shirts were like cardboard and the bell bottoms had to have 7 horizontal creases in them luckily i was rubbish at that so oh did them lol
The drawback with ornaments is they are dust collectors.
Question Author
alba, the trick with ornaments is not to move them or go near the surfaces they rest on - that way there are no marks in the dust.
Boxy has a sign which says 'if you must write in the dust, please don't date it'
Living in Africa everything must get ironed because of the flies that lay eggs on damp clothing or it must go in the dryer. I don't do the ironing tho I have someone to do that I hate ironing
