Another Scattering Ashes Post

This week the ashes of a young neighbour of mine were finally dispersed. She was 25 and had saved loads of lives in Afghanistan and Iraq as an army medic only to die so young from cancer. Her ashes were made into four rockets which were fired from the cliff top in Whitby, and then we all retired to the pub. A few minutes later we heard sirens and the fire brigade were soon busy putting out a fire on the cliff caused by one of the rockets. She would have seen the funny side of this as her surname was Spark.

She would also probably enjoyed the sight of a hunk in a firefighters outfit running in her direction . . . RIP

That is so sad...so lovely and funny too. She sounds a special girl. x

It turned what started out as a sad occasion into one where we were all laughing hysterically

Our neighbours did that when their daughter died too. But she whizzed straight out to sea:-)

sorry to read this MrsO. so sad and yet as you say she would have enjoyed it. probably the best way to celebrate her short life. she sounds as though she was to kow.
