It's a small box attached to a collar and emits an inaudible ultra-sound signal to which the dog alone, is sensitive. It's automatic so he doesn't have to monitor the dog. The other sprays an odor the dog doesn't like whenever he barks. I'm not familiar with that one however. I'm sure similar devices would be available in the U.K.

There are two main sorts of antibark collars, one that gives off a high pitched noise and the other is a citronella spray. Google antibark collars and you will get several sites.
By electronic device, I sincerely hope you do not mean an electric shock collar, as these are highly dangerous and should be outlawed in a civilised society.
Ideally a dog should be taught not to bark by training, and not by the use of a collar.
