One of the lightbulbs in my kitchen has blown.

The bulb is a screw-in spotlight type and is recessed into the ceiling. It's been there for some time and seems to be stuck.

The bulb fits so neatly into the holder that there is no room to get my fingers round it's edge - so I can't get a grip on it to unscrew it.

I feel the need for a large rubber sucker on a stick to grip the exposed surface and turn the bulb.

Dooes such a thing exist? Or is there a better simpler method.

have you rtied turning off the power and spraying a little silicone or wd 40 around the edge?
When I had a similar problem I managed to get it moving using one of those rubber disks sold to help get a grip on tight jar-lids. Its a bit of the leap of faith that the bulb doesn't break because you have to push down on the top surface of the bulb to get enough friction between the disk and the top of the bulb to turn it anticlockwise.
You could also try a valve grinding tool with a rubber sucker on the end. Available from Halfords and motor spares outlets.

Wet your thumb and fingers with your tongue- its amazing just how much grip you can get on glasss doing this.

It works for me every time

IF all else fails then get an old rubber sucker of some kind and stick it to the lamp with silicon sealer/adhesive, hold it in place with some tape until it sets, wait until next day and then unscrew.
