I got some really well supporting trainers, very thick sole with rounded bottoms which cushioned my feet really well. I also did some exercises to stretch it under my foot so it wasn't so tight and managed to get it cleared up pretty quickly (couldn't walk on it hardly when it was diagnosed).
I also used some gel heel supports.
I also used some gel heel supports.
It was ones like these I got:

I know they are ladies ones but sure they do similar for men. I love them, great to help with my arthritis too. Only thing is my feet get really hot really easily so am looking for some more summery ones with similar support.

One of the links had a video showing the plantar muscle stretching technique. Tried this, evenings and mornings as suggested, and there is certailny an improvement and no pain when first putting the foot to the floor when getting out of bed. Also taking Arnica tablets to help reduce the inflamation, also Iboprufen gel massaged into the sole of the foot, both of which seem to be having some beneficial effect, so keeping fingers crossed. Thank you for all your sugestions
after trying painkillers and creams I was referred for physiotherapy for this. It helped but stil had alot of discomfort so was sent for the steroid injection - yes was a sore one but certainly done the trick. Sometimes I feel the pain coming on and just start doing the stretching exercises I was first shown at physio and really I have no bother at all (I am a keen runner).
