This week's game has now closed and I can now reveal that 'Queen Kay's' chosen links were NOT (and never were) on the theme of 'Red Nose Day'.

They were:
COUNTER PANE
NEEDLE MATCH
WORK HOUSE
SAFETY PIN

Lots of alternative possibilities so the scores were low again this week.
See Below to find out if you were a lucky scorer.

Thank you Psybbo for prompting Tonyav to replace a three-letter answer, but unfortunately nobody was around at the time to prompt you to replace a non-word of your own. ('mand' is only in my dictionary as a Spenserian form of 'manned'.)

I didn't think my little joke would fool anyone on Friday evening (Comic Relief). I thought the give-away would be that the first post and the follow-up were both timed the same, indicating that the text was pre-prepared. Sorry if you were taken in.

Now for the serious stuff.

Roslyn351254 was back on form again with her instant responses claiming both COUNTER PANE and SAFETY PIN with bonuses = 4 points.

Three minutes later, Aquagility chose NEEDLE MATCH for his two points.

The final link of WORK HOUSE (most of us are too young to remember what that is!) was the destination of Strix at a quarter to three in the afternoon.

Thereafter, a few singles were collected but mention should be made of a second double-hitter, Jobjockey.

Well, with two double-hitters, one of them has to be the hotshot. That honour will therefore go to the player who instinctively read Queen Kay's mind.

***** HOTSHOT FOR *****
***** THIS WEEK IS *****
**** ROSLYN 251254 *****
*** CONGRATULATIONS ***

In summary, this week's scorers were:
4 roslyn251254
2 Aquagility
2 jobjockey
2 Strix
1 fordward
1 handbaglady
1 patchett
1 paulineward
1 seekeerz
1 SHAZZA-Hewat
1 teacher1

and that just leaves the leader-board.
Question Author
This is just the mid-point of a five-week month so it is still possible for anything to happen.
At the moment, Roslyn has propelled herself into the lead but only time will tell if she can hold her position.

6 roslyn251254
4 Aquagility
4 beejay1124
4 lysander
4 Strix
3 jobjockey
3 patchett
3 paulineward
3 seekeerz
10 on 2 points and
11 on 1 point.

'Queen Kay' (aka evsajo) will be back next weekend with her 4th set of challenges for you.
Until then
Same time
Same place
Happy Linking

Hooray! Well done everyone and usual thanks to gen2 & Queen Kay. I like sewing & knitting too.
Gen, you never told me it was a 5 week month !!! lol
Question Author
I didn't?
Must have been an oversight.
Thanks Queen Kay and Gen2. I think our daughters must have similar interests, Evsajo; mine has just got back from the Knitting and Stitching exhibition at Olympia, where she had a stall. She's a knitter, though, not a sewer (that doesn't look right, but you know what I mean!) these days.
