Are they common? or limited to the few? I'm an absolute control freak and hate it. I'm a lousy passenger. I hate flying. I can't delegate, and if a job needs doing, I have to do it. :o( I'm so organised, I scare myself...So a solution is needed?

Any more out there?

wit tonight.

scene - Inn on Dartmoor, good food, roaring fire.

Enter white guy, circa 33-35, Chinese gf or maybe wife, nicely dressed.

Sit down, he with a lager, she with a sherry or something, maybe a Riesling....look through the menu and he is "steering," nay, insisting that she eats the fish......Teignmouth mussels to begin with (actually very good - but ouch).

Same with main course and then her wine - she sks for a glass, the waiter says he has several - straight in from him "she shall have your Chilean Merlot."

Never mind what a bloody awful choice with skate but it was the way he said it that suggested "ouch, we have one of those here."

Organising one's own life to the nth degree, or variations thereof, is one thing - mazie, do you organise others' lives to the same degree? Open question. If you don't, no solution needed.

God, no DTC..It's only my life that has to be totally controlled. I wouldn't impose myself on anyone else...Furthermore, my kids would never let me impose on theirs... I think I have to stop beating myself up.
then you are not a control freak.......just a highly organised...what's the word?

I have these targets set in my head. One summer I was determined to put all the bedding plants in on this particular day...the upshot was I was still out at about 11.30pm putting the plants in.....Crazy, I know
I was thinking on the lines "robotic" - can you set yourself a day of doing nothing and go with the flow, or a day of spontaneity/or even creativity....?

I have started DTC...Monday afternoons I chill out with Clue Chain and I'm really liking it... right I'm off. Thanks for listening guys xxxx
Sounds more like one of those obsessional thingys to me. You are only affecting yourself - you are not controlling others.
Mazie, that's setting a goal and time limit to achieve that goal. Nothing wrong with that. At least this way you get the job done without any hint of procrastination.
good luck with that, mazie....

Aww. Thank you Society. My family think I'm a control freak because of my targets.....Yet, they love me really...and the plants, the cakes and the clean beds....LOL They want all these things and yet want me to chill out....I'm not sure how you do that? Anyway. Thank you all for your kind and constructive comments. Night xxx
