Plug-Ins???
7 Answers
Suddenly, this is appearing on my screen "This plug in is vulnerable and should be updated. Check for updates. Clck here to activate the Adobe Flash plug in". Also there's a little red plug in sign (like a piece of lego) right at the start of the main title line (is it URL line). When I clicked on that it says " Some plug ins have been deactivated for your safety. Adobe Flash. Check for updates." there is also a box with ACTIVATE on it. WHat is it and what shall I do. I'm frightened to click on something I don't know what it is, but I'm worried that I should be doing something with it. CAn you please advise. Thanks.

No best answer has yet been selected by horseshoes. Once a best answer has been selected, it will be shown here.
For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.Perhaps I should say that the messages are appearing all over the pages for instance on this page there is one next to "mark as best answer" another right down the right hand side where there are usually adverts and the same further down on the left hand side. When I went to do the nwspaper quiz, there was one instead of the pictures.
Plug-ins are used by web browsers (IE, Chrome, Firefox etc.) to allow them to deal with parts of some webpages and every now and then possible weaknesses that could result in security problems are identified in these plug-ins; at that time a plug-in needs to be updated to use its latest version that has the problem fixed.
If you are using Firefox then select Add-ons from the Tools menu, down the lhs of that you'll see Plugins so click on that, and at the top of the displayed list you will see Check to see if your plugins are up to date so click on that and follow the instructions.
If you are using another browser then you'd need to specify which it is.
