On the GM thread today, there was a bit of chat about Cornwall.

I was going to tell them about a rather pleasant morning I had in Cornwall, involving Champagne, cream teas, and soapy water, but ...

I couldn't remember the name of the place.

So I went to look it up. It turned out that it was in Devon! #fail

So if anyone has any Cornish tales of a jolly nature ... ???

There must be some pasty or surfing stories ?

Yeah we were on holiday in Cornwall when I was about 7 or 8 and a freaky wave tripped me and slammed me across the rocks grazing and cutting me. not as often as he'd like
you get sand in bits you never knew you had, craft, lol!
Oi ^^^^.

Is her name Newquay, crafty.
Alba, wish I could find her. She moved from London and got married to a guy who lives in Cornwall. If I knew her married name I might have some luck tracking her.
I said Intent.................as in a tent.
Is there any way you can search registry office records/ newspaper announcements from that time Soc?
lol cupid, done that on Filey beach..............never again.
No Albs, that wouldn't be possible.
Newquay and Lands End - to be avoided at all costs......the former full of 18-25 year olds puking up and the latter a demolition job by Peter de Savary and his henchmen and now awful with its emmit tackiness and overpriced......

There are still some lovely villages but the stuffing risks being knocked out of these with the number of outsider/vacationers....for example, Flushing and Helford are way over 50% holiday lets now.
We spent our honeymoon there in1977. We stayed in Gorran Haven, not far from Mevagissey. It was January, freezing cold with snow.
i have never had aa ginsters pasty. have only had ones that have been individually made but there are still much better things to get fat on.
