Parking In London Q

Hi,

We are going to London (city center) for a few days in May for a wedding and we are staying in a hotel without parking and wondered if there was anywhere to park that doesn't cost the earth.

The NCPs near the hotel cost a fortune and it is costing us enough to go already :( We don't mind leaving the car a bit further out as long as they have a tube or train close by.

Thanks

If there's 3 car loads, why not get a price for a minibus and driver, it might not be as pricey as you think.

Rockyracoon, That is a good idea I hadn't thought of.
Might be too expensive, but it's definitely worth an ask.
Never, ever trust Trainline.com to provide accurate information! I used to work on the railways and Trainline is considered to be an absolute joke!

The off-peak return fare from Petersfield to Waterloo is £31.50 but Group Save applies on that route. (I've used Petersfield in my example as you've previously mentioned living in the East Hampshire District Council area). That means that 4 adults can travel for the price of 2, so that's just £63 return for 4 people. Further, if there are any children (between 5 and 15 years) accompanying the adults they all travel for just £1 return each (up to a maximum of 4 children per party). So, for example, 4 adults and 4 children can travel for a total return fare of just £67.

The only website you should use for rail travel information is this one:
http://nationalrail.co.uk/
(Because you can only book 12 weeks in advance, you can't enter dates in May at the minute but you can get times and fares by entering travel details for March).

Chris
good suggestion of hiring a mini bus, that way no worries over parking.

Thanks everyone.

I had a quote for a mini bus.... £165 each way so might as well take the cars for that price :(

Chris, Petersfield is my nearest station of choice and you are right Trainline was £86 AND they said there wasn't a train to Waterloo only Victoria!!!

I shall have a look at the nationalrail site.

There will be a tatal of 6 adults and 2 children. Although we would all like to travel together, my family (2A 2C) would like to stay longer on the last day so that we can go to the CHF Dragon Boat Race fundraiser but we can live without going as we went last year.

Without reading any of the other posts. It is a sincere offer that you may park outside my house completely free of charge. Be my guest for a cup of coffee etc and catch the train to central London. Tube station is about five minutes walk from my home.
keyplus, that's the best answer yet. I'm in north London about five miles from the hotel and can make the same offer.
Seajay - Yeah, that's the best we can do. make a sincere offer like some nice people. I am not really sure where the hotel is but I am in West London in Hounslow.

Hello everyone.

Thank you for all your replies and thank you for the kind offer of parking spaces. As there are so many of us I wouldn't want to put anyone to any trouble but it was a very generious offer. Thank you.
