Heres One For The Men Out There, 2 Weeks To Go Until Due Date...
8 Answers
Here's the scenario....you and your wife or partner etc are expecting your first child. There is only 2 weeks until the big day!! Ok, I know babies don't often arrive on the very date they are said to be due but anything could happen. They could surprise you, arrive sooner or a while after the due date.
Right lads, if this is a scenario that you have already been through, can you remember what you were doing??? Were you nearby or was it just like lets say....another Saturday for you?
To all the lads that are actually going through a very similar time of the pregnancy with their partner/wife, where are you all now? Are you close by, ready on hand, maybe pampering your partner or wife and making sure everything is in place and just so, ready for your first child? OR is it just like any other day?
I look forward to your replies.

Not a male point of view, but when I was getting close to my due date with both our daughters, Mr P stayed very close to home. We're lucky as he works at home, so could do that very easily. As for weekends on the lead up, he stayed in or very near the house helping me get ready for the baby and picking stuff up for me as I was the size of a bus.
#2 came 3 weeks early, so I'm glad he was nearby. I think even for peace of mind it's nice to have them close, especially if it's your first.

My other half disappeared on the night I went into labour with our son. I had been taken to hospital with leaking amniotic fluid and was kept in, oh went to a mate's house and was un-contactable when I went into labour at midnight, he eventually turned up at about 2am and our son was born 5 hours later.
I would happily have given birth on my own, the only concern was that the oh was ok and hadn't been in an accident.

2 weeks is still a long time really. i know you could go into labour anytime, but it could also be over a week late. i think if he was fussing around you andn ot leaving your side for all that time it would drive you mad. every one and every relationship is different though. My husband has only really ever gone out on his own since we had the baby as i'm home with the little one. Before the pregnancy and before the birth, if he went out i was there too so i suppose its dificult for me to say. if your partner always goes out on a saturday night then that's his normal behaviour - just have a word with him and lay down the ground rules that when baby is born - YOU get to go out on a saturday night while he stays home with the baby! lol good luck xx
