Am I to understand that you think there are heterosexual couples who are best of mates who want to adopt a child and raise the child together in a loving home?
Really?
I know of one case which was reported in the papers last year of two straight men who had lost their partners who were raising their children together, but these were men who already had biological children.
Who are these inseparable heterosexuals?
Pinky and Perky?
Morecambe and Wise?
Flanders and Swan?

I would argue that you are not necessarily a bigot because you don't understand homosexuality.
We should all remember that acceptance of same-sex adoption rights is a huge step for many people. We live in a country where there are many who remember when gay people were jailed for being gay, so we should not expect everyone to run at the same speed as everyone else.
Perhaps if you were in close contact with a gay couple who have successfully raised children, your opinion may alter, but I would hesitate to label you a bigot just because you haven't had that experience (I have).
